NH Proposes Fee If People Need To Be Rescued

I was more curious if NH would/could ask MA to withhold renewal of my license or registration, or if this law allows for NH to revoke my right to drive in NH.

Hunt vs Abol in winter (BSP)

Daicey Pond is beautiful in winter, but it is indeed a long way distance from everything. Heck, its access road is a mile long off the Tote Road. Daicey-Abol does get done, you're trading off distance for the shelter of a cabin.

NH Proposes Fee If People Need To Be Rescued

Anyone know if reciprocity gets involved here if one is from out of state? Or if an out-of-stater's privilege to drive in NH can be revoked *in this situation, under this law* ?

NH Proposes Fee If People Need To Be Rescued

Two things in this article that stood out to me: This is news to me. I was not aware of this. This is also news to me, I didn't know about this policy change. Previously the use of the Blackhawk was covered as training.

RIP Maine Woods National Park - Wilderness protection to multiple use

I wonder why they didn't propose a National Forest instead of a National Park, then?

Hillsound Trail Crampon Pro vs. G10's

I totally agree. In my pack, the Hillsound TCPros are for conditions between Microspikes and full crampons. I like them for stretches of exposed ice with minimal snow cover or hardpack with less of a fall risk. For deeper hardpack snow or steeper conditions they aren't enough spikes and don't...

Windmills getting closer to the Whites - second and third Plymouth-area wind farms

Did those ridges have public access to begin with? For that matter, why did this company ever choose to own that land in the first place?

WMNF from a West Coast Perspective

They openly stated they stayed in a "shelter left open for weather emergencies." Their readers will judge accordingly. Interesting choice of route to Owl's Head.

Anyone know current trail conditions for Puzzle Mtn, Baldpates, Grafton Notch area?

The Grafton Notch area really is just beautiful. And of course one of the best parts about hiking in there in the summer is the self-serve homemade pie stand on Rte 26. :)

Anyone know current trail conditions for Puzzle Mtn, Baldpates, Grafton Notch area?

Several summers ago, after a long day on the Grafton Loop from the Baldpates, and a lousy campsite on the backside of Puzzle, the summit and hike down the frontside were pleasant and beautiful, very uplifting. I'm glad to see you had a good hike and also enjoyed Puzzle!!!

    Baxter S.P. Logistics Help Needed

There's actually no swimming allowed at Daicey or Kidney. I don't know why they list it as an activity. Perhaps they're referring to the river nearby? I only swim at Togue Pond Beach (just outside the gate). Daicey and Kidney both have an inordinate number of leaches. Togue doesn't have any. :)...

Permits for White Mountain National Forest Christmas Trees

Roy, she already has a Rav4, I'd rather not anything bigger! And I'll tell ya, I wouldn't want to have to clean out the sap and pine needles afterward. :)
