I've been suffering a moose jones....haven't seen one in almost a month....so... Spectacular weather today on Engine Hill! Rocky Branch Trail, as far as the height-of-land, is completely dry...just a dusting of snow. From there it was an awesome day of exploring the mountain side...

The Resolution Shelter is scheduled for "removal", as opposed to just destroying and leaving the corpse in a nasty pile of trash as was done to our shelter in Perkins Notch. It specifically states "removal of non-organic" parts. Does this mean they will leave a similar pile of debris? Wood is...

speeding...that's the problem. The speed is clearly marked for 20 mph. 99% of drivers cannot process the idea of 20mph. Most are already doing 70mph in a 50mph zone...or is it 40mph. Moose signs, hairpin signs, reduced speed signs, pedestrian signs...blah, blah. They go as fast as they...

Tim, awesome! No pics of lynx tracks?! I wonder if his presence is connected to the hatchery, hunting either the trout or those who do. I once worked at a trout hatchery in R.I., and there were plenty of critters attracted to the facility. Each day, we let any dead fish float down the stream.
