We wanted to do a non-adventurous walk in the woods and decided upon a short hike to Wachipauka Pond which the AT runs along. We had visited the pond years ago including a hike over Mt. Mist and Webster Slide Mountain but today was just a visit to the pond.

Here we go.

We think these are porcupine tracks.

Not sure what this track was. We were thinking otter but the track wasn't very wide. It continued for some distance. Any ideas?

Another enjoyable day in the woods!

Nice photos! Such a lovely area. Years ago I was the trail adopter for Rt. 25C to Mt. Mist and often made the trip past the 'Caution, Tourists!' sign down to the pond. A few years ago there was a (?) hawk or some other large bird of prey living near the pond who used to dive bomb unsuspecting hikers.
