    forced to bareboot by MSRs

How thin IS too thin........... Forestgnome ~ We noticed the same thing coming down the Crawford Path last evening. 2 of us had MSR's and 2 had other more traditional style shoes. The "trad's" were feeling a bit Klutsy in the narrowish track. However, the 2 with the MSR's both "threw a shoe"...

    ever seen bloodroot in WMNF?

"I" have it in one of the gardens in Sandwich :) The flowers open before the leaves fully unfurl, and only last a few days. The leaves are beautiful in their own right, and last quite a while thru Summer. Difficult to propagate from seed, but can be done from division after it has gone...

    With all of this snow....

Similiar story to yours Kevin............ My hike was to Carrigain, for the month of April. I was about 1/4 mile from the opening on Signal Ridge. I was solo and making fresh tracks in the snowpack. From the south, a Moose had entered the trail and proceed up to head toward the open ridge...

Sherpas with Step-in bindings (Prater?) Spotted on Ebay

Ah, Sherpa Snowshoes Best Snowshoes ever ~ I have a pair of these. I wear them every now & then. They are heavier than a lot of shoes made these days. So quick & easy to clip on & off  Only complaint I had with them was, once in awhile, in certain snow conditions, snow would build...

A day to take stock in NH

It's definitely like April out there on the trails. It's a mess. Everything is mushy. The warm trend is looking like it will continue through the weekend :( Snowshoes are most certainly needed, unless you don't care how you leave the trail for whom might travel it after you ~
