    Hikers Stranded

I would guess that they somehow dropped their rope. Without a rope you can't go up and you can't go down on that route.

Lost in the Sun on Webster Cliff

This was a really nice moderate route, although it would probably suck on a wet day with mostly slab climbing. We had a great time with great company.

Lost in the Sun on Webster Cliff

Leaf was waiting at the pull-out across from Willey's slide on 302 in Crawford Notch on Saturday morning at 8 am when I pulled in right on schedule after leaving my house at 5:15 am. We knew that Jeff would be right along. He went zipping right past us about 10 minutes later. We were on the...

Easy accessTop Roping Opps in Franconia Notch ?

Secrets of the Notch Secrets of the Notch by Jon Sykes is the best guidebook I know of for the Franconia Notch area. I like Echo Crag. The access is very easy but most of the routes need to be lead first to set up a top rope on routes.

    Mount Rainier: June 3-5, 2008

Chip and Paradox, Congratulations on a good climb. Hiking in the Whites and the Adks is good training for the Cascades, especially doing winter 4K's here in the Northeast. I would agree that good conditioning is the key for a fun trip. My brother and I took a trip up Rainier in '05 with RMI...

Team Dom Denali Attempt Day by Day

A couple of years from now Alan and I have been talking about trying Denali in a few years from now when he turns 50 and I'll be 51. Reading about this crew struggling a bit is making think I better up my training schedule now! I had a tough time just skiing into Roaring Brook this...

    Canon Powershot G9

A G9!! I can't get a new camera right now but I have narrowed down my choices to the Canon G9 (p&s) or the XSi (dslr). I like the G9 because it has an optical viewfinder as well as a 3 inch LCD screen to go with its 12.1 mp resolution and 6X optical zoom. I like that it can shoot fully manual...

I would think that the usual suspects for a hike like this are presently in Alaska and without computer access.
