    Suggested day trip on-the-Hudson

Hi Jay, hope all is well. Was a little hairy crossing over the Hudson, think it was because of the "iron" skillet! But to be honest I think adding weight to the boat kept in from bobing up and down, sorry for using that word Bob.

    Suggested day trip on-the-Hudson

Bob, google Bannerman's Castle. It's across on the east side of the Hudson near West Point. JayH and I parked on your side somewhere, possibly further south of West Point and we crossed the Hudson to camp out near the castle. Also some people paddle around some of the marsh areas but it's...

    Allagash (?)

Might have spelled it wrong. I took out an AMC guide book about paddling some of it. Can anyone offer some advise or experience? Chip were you on this 10 plus years ago? Saw a write up on google that made me think of some vftt members on it around 2002? Friend told me to stick to the part...

    Kayaking trips 2013

Very nice, I too have a pungo 120. After getting stuck in meandering turns on a trip one day with a 17ft kayak, I went to EMS and purchased the Pungo. Love it! Have packed it a few times for overnights on some easy waters in NJ and the ADK's. I now have 4 boats after 7 years and the Pungo is...

    max anderson swedish sailing canoe

They sent me a few pics of their boats at an ADK gathering last summer, man, how nice do they look! I love the curled front and rear parts of their boats. Silly me I looked on their website at restored boats from the 1920's and 30's...some list for $3,000 and up....gotta be years of art work...

    max anderson swedish sailing canoe

Just heard from the WCHA that the parts that I donated from the canoe (couldn't be restored) brought in app $600 from their auction. People will use them in their restoration projects. Glad I was able to help the WCHA. these folks also have some talents rebuilding canoes almost 100 years old...

Done! Paddled the upper wood yesterday with my nephew Matt. Water was high enough for me to only scrap my kevlar boat a few times  But the little bugs were out to get us. Luckily I carried my bug head net for those bad ocassions and this was one of those times. We pulled out at the...
