You are a busy boy! Between viewing, brewing, hiking, stargazing and mensaing not to mention working! We have a batch of Yippee IPA and a batch of mead going on our kitchen counter at the moment. We also enjoy hitting brew pubs on our vacations and little jaunts! You might add this to the Brews...

Wow what an adventure for Sage not to mention helping someone in need! The letter on the birch bark was so sweet! Last time I hiked Stinson all I found was some chanterelles!

There is fun and beauty to be found at the lower elevations! Rattlesnake, Belknap, Gunstock and Piper are my favs for a quick hiking fix! Great report and photos. Glad you all got out and "did it" despite the weather!

Thanks for the Greenie. I actually had second thoughts about putting in the saw blade photos although at the time I couldn't think of a reason not to. It really was a fun day and just to let you know, we left everything where we found it.

Because of Wednesday's rain storm, the Whiteface River crossings were very difficult. Doable though if you didn't mind wet feet and bushwhacking a up stream to find just the right spot. The river was a loud torrent cascading and shooting up over huge boulders. The sound of it rang in our ears...

I spotted these along the Mount Kinsman Trail on Tues. Silverfox took this photo for me. I know it is a little blurry but can anyone identify this odd looking group of fungi? I have never seen this before.
