little bit embarassing but here is my story- Day 1 of my adventure went off with out a hitch. Up and over North & South Twin, down to Galehead Hut, summit Galehead, and stay at the hut for the night. (#42,43, & 44 NH anytime for me) Day 2 things got interesting. Hiked down to 13 Falls...

thanks Yvon, good topic. so while we are on the subject of funky readings, my 60csx will read incorrect mileage totals while hiking but once the trac is downloaded to my pc, it corrects itself and is usually pretty accurate compared to book/map distances. any ideas?

I used the decaf versions on a recent backpack trip. Yea, yea, I know, what's the sense of decaf coffee? I thought they were great and much better than any other instants I've used before

I've been following this thread with some interest as I've been thinking I'd head down from Galehead hut this weekend and bag Owls Head and finish up by heading out Lincoln Woods. I've been going back and forth thinking the northern section of Lincoln Brook Trail may not be an easy trail to...

Excellent report as usual Mike. Obviously I've conceded the race to 48 since I did this repeat instead of going off on my own to hike a peak I needed in order to keep up. You failed to mention the unique Siamese twins joined at the armit that we encountered on the summit.

WMNF site says road is open. I know west end is impassable due yo bridge outages but is the east end passable such that you can drive to trailheads for Galehead & Garfield? Anybody been up this road or to these peaks this past week?
