    Musings on Head Injuries

My son had an accident October 3rd and suffered many skull and facial fractures and traumatic brain injury. We almost lost him, he is still rehabbing. Although he hit a pole on his motorcycle, we've seen so many of these injuries after the slightest falls. It wasn't a huge surprise to us that...

    torn tendon in arm

Hey Coldfeet sorry to hear about the elbow/forearm. I had gotten a shot in my elbow a few years back and almost instantly felt better. The funny thing was I had purchased a kayak that winter and didn't even try to use it for about a year and a half. Different excersizes and time really helped. I...

    Bondcliff. Only Bondcliff. 01/25/09

Now this is what I call a Trip report!... It's tremendous... it's colossal... it's even mediocre!!! Just kidding of course. Thank's for sharing. I thought I was the only one referencing the Stooges most of the day while hiking.

    South West Hunter Attempt

My first trip up was solo in winter from the notch. I figured go to the notch, turn left and go straight up! Steep, a little scary, a bit of a false summit, and then the long flat top. I don't know how, but I was lucky to eventually find the canister. That's where I came up on some blown over...

    South West Hunter Attempt

Finding the summit canister from the Diamond Notch leanto is probably more difficult than the route you took. The best route to go is to NOT go as far as the Devil's Acre leanto. Next time take the devil's Path to the viewpoint at around 3400 ft. You then head down hill a bit, then back up. When...

    Catskill Snow Conditions

We tried to travel to Slide PA or Denning from Delaware county early Sunday morning. Didn't get very far with my 2 wheel drive p/u. About 5-6 inches with heavy snow still falling. Turned around and just hiked a local mountain instead. 2-3 ft of powder. Sorry Jay, we never caught up with you...

Reflections on list finishing (Cats 35)

Hey very well done! Congrats on your finish. I second Mt. Sherril's view as one of the best. Also know what you're talking about with Halcott. This peak was my 34th and the last and easiest bushwack... Also went down the wrong side of the mountain. It was very memorable as I almost got...

    Nikon S610 or equivalent.

Jay, I am totally shocked that you were treated this way. I sent a film camera, about 5 years ago, that was about a year out of warranty back to Canon and the response was fantastic. They checked and reset all sensors and settings and sent it back to me all at no cost! -Tony
