    1971 White Mountain Backpacking Trip

Wow, that was great! Really enjoyed the report. My earliest shots go back to 1980, and are fun to check out and remember. Sometimes it doesn't seem so far back, but then you check out the old gear, and then it does seem a WAYS back! Thanks for sharing.

    Kayak shopping at EMS today

Hey David, bought a boat friday at EMS. Took it out for a while on a cold, windy, reservoir. Did a little fishing and a lot of paddling...I think the fish were smarter than me!

HiTech filters I will have to check out. I think I would have stayed with the Sigma too, as the image quality looks great to me. Thanks Jim for the info. -Tony

    The Colors of November...

Wow, looks like you've done it again! Thanks for sharing another excellent shot. I guess the Sigma 18-200 is your walk around lens. And the use of the two ND filters is very interesting. Are you using the Cokin filters? -Tony

    Platte Clove Rd

Your right Alan, except my wife is the one who has a stroke on that road...Funny, it's my hair not hers, that's gray, white... all of the above. Just love seeing the sights while driving that road!

"Data Corrupted" on Lexar compact flash card...

I've read very recently about bootleg imitation cards. Look just like the real deal, but are garbage. I'd call the company or where you purchased it to see if it is legit.

    Catskills Belleyare Development Approved

Not very good news, but not very surprising. From the very beginning of this thing I could not understand how, with the watersheds involved and all, that this could be given 5 minutes of attention. When there's bucks involved, there should be no surprise.

    Rusk 8-15-07

Nice TR guys. The Catskill grid is getting tougher to accomplish. These bushwacks are more and more painful since this years storm. Just have to rough it I guess.

ADK question - Activities with a three-year old

I would think camping in South Meadows and hiking Mt.Jo, and possibly Marcy Dam. Maybe a drive up Whiteface with some walking up top.

    DSLR Camera Decision

I couldn't agree more, especially with B&H and Adorama. Also check out the Tokina 12-24 f4 lens. I have it on my Digital Rebel and just love it.

    Goodbye to an old friend...

Sorry for your loss. I always remember my Borroughs traverse, some years ago with my two Labs, the original Rocky&Summit. I know you'll remember your buddie every time you do this hike, as I do. Thanks for sharing.

    Catskill trail closings

There must have been very heavy wet snow and ice, followed by big time wind. The tree tops are snapped off, some still hanging dangerously, and plenty on the ground. It took me almost 6 hours from end of Spruceton rd to the 3400 ft view (on way to SW Hunter), and back to the parking area. The...
