    Clough needs a new logbook

If anyone is planning to bushwack Clough please bring a new logbook and ziplock bag. When I got there the canister lid was on the ground. I found the logbook just lying there, all frozen and muddy with no ziplock bag in sight. Thanks!

    Teapot, Savage, East Spruce info

Thanks for the info. I'll be whacking solo so spotting a car is not an option at this point. I'm also trying to avoid private property issues. My main objective is Savage since I'm almost done with the NH100 but I don't want to leave no stragglers behind (from the 770 list) if possible.:D I...

    Teapot, Savage, East Spruce info

I'm heading for the Great North Woods this weekend and I'm looking for the easiest way to bag those 3. From what I could find the western approaches are shorter but way nastier (especially around East Spruce). I'm leaning towards an approach from the logging road west of Strafford Bog Pond but...

did you feel the earthquake today ?

I sure felt it in old Montreal. I'm sure Pauline Marois leader of the Parti Québécois (the separatist party) is behind the whole thing. Damn good planner, she made sure Ottawa got the worst of it.

Tragedy on Little Bear – Colorado

Tragic indeed. Having experienced the Hourglass first hand, it is a handful in the best of conditions. It must be heart wrenching to have to make that call to leave your partner behind for help. Especially considering that you have to deal with Lake Como road on the way out which is known...

I would definitely do it but from the Chinese side. Not as crowded.

    Acclimitize to a 14-er

I like that quote: "unconsciousness reduce the body's need for oxygen." Good to know. Drawback is it also considerably slows down your progress on the mountain.

Jordan Romero, 13 yo attempting Everest

I met the Romeros at high camp on Denali (they summitted 30 minutes ahead of our team the next day) and I ran into them again in Talkeetna afterwards. Despite all the publicity, they are a very down to earth family. The 7 summits was Jordan's idea and the parents being accomplished athletes...

    VFTT winter gathering 2010?

Thanks Giggy! Sorry I couldn't make it. Hope everyone had fun at Barnes Field. I was on the other side of the Presis in Twin Mountain and I want to take this opportunity to thank Giggy for breaking the TFW trail. Yes, I was there today and Giggy did such a great job at breaking trail that I...
