    Leaps of faith, name them!

How about that crack that you have to hop over to get out on that famous Bondcliff rock? I haven't done, or been close enough to see it, but my husband said you can look quite a ways down into the crack. I have also read about it in many a TR. I have such bad vertigo that I didn't bother even...

    Untreated Ethan Pond Water?

I'm going to say the simple answer to this is.....no. :p At least I haven't read anything HERE about anyone getting sick from the pond. It's unfortunate that your filter wasn't working. Hopefully you are feeling ok . As for whether you should, or shouldn't treat your water....Wouldn't you kind...

Flags on the 48 - Mt Madison

Great Job!!! I know that we had ZERO views from N. Kinsman, but the weather was dry and non breezy. I can only imagine what it was like up there on Madison!! I'm sorry to hear that Trainwreck had a tumble, but all in all it sounds like you all had a nice day and great company!

    Flags on the 48 - 2009 - 09/12/2009

Russ and I are willing to help if you need us Brian. We'll be right there anyway so what's the big deal of sliding over one peak right? We'd just need to borrow that extra flag and know what to bring for the rigging.

    Zealand-Bonds Traverse, Sunday September 6

I've seen this phrase floating around the forum...what does it reference? I'm sure there is a funny story behind this. :p But she did wait for you so that's something right? :D No, we saw the tentsites at the junction area before heading down to the pond, but we stayed on Zeacliff itself...

    Zealand-Bonds Traverse, Sunday September 6

Yes!! Small world, or mountains!, indeed! Russ remembers being told that Geri hurt her foot on a rock. I hope that is healing well for her. At the time our paths crossed Russ and I were headed to spend the night on Zeacliff. We started our journey on Friday by heading up and over the Twins...

    Zealand-Bonds Traverse, Sunday September 6

WoW! In reading this and I am wondering if my husband and I might have been one of the couples you chatted with. I recall speaking with a group of three, with a dog, on top of Mt. Guyot. Russ and I were headed toward Zealand. We chatted with a couple briefly while they waited for the third...

9/7/09 Baldfaces or "Assault of the Views"

Ornery Ledge Troll That Emerald Pool looks pretty, if not pretty interesting. What is it that makes it green like that? Was it algae? The trip sounds like it was definately full of laughs and I wish I could have been there! I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have wanted to meet the troll though! :eek...

Hello again Cymbidium, how is that leg rash problem? Have you solved it? I just came back from a 4 day backpacking trip and had zero leg rash. Same socks that originally gave me a problem too! Very odd! I do have new boots though so maybe it wasn't the socks, but instead the boots. We may never...

    What's in your hike plan

It is sad when I say this to myself out loud, but I think that because my husband and I hike EVERY weekend that those whom would notice our absence don't actually pay much attention anymore. I have told my mother where I will be, but then never check back in with her and she has never tried to...
