    Winter parking updates ?

Thanks ! Great news for USFS Ammonusuc Ravine lot. Now that Little River rd. is out, any idea for a plan B if Haystack rd. entrance is full? Can you tell me more about Bowman, not familiar with this one (seems to bear near Castle Trail TH).

    Winter parking updates ?

Hi, it's been a while since I hiked regularly in NH during winter, trying to see what changed on the parking situation. Is parking at the Seven dwarves still an option? What about Garfield, if I recall correctly there is limited space there. Is the Rocky Branch TH usually plowed? I have no...

    Ski stations update ?

Hi, I'm looking for any recent info on the access for the 4k' usually reached from Ski stations: Saddleback (ME), Sugarloaf (ME), Wildcat (NH). I've seen recent stuff about Saddleback being much less hiker-friendly than the previous administration and Wildcat changing their policy again...

NH Fish And Game Seeking Help With Missing Hiker

I always assumed that doing Flume out and back then going down Liberty Springs was the usual "winter" route and I'm pretty sure everyone would be surprised if her journey went wrong descending Flume.

    DUPR At Baxter

Yeah, talking about that, being stuck with only Nesowadnehunk left, it was "interesting" to see how many sites were unnocupied at Kathadin Stream and RB..

    DUPR At Baxter

We camped for 4 nights at Nesowadnehunk 2 weeks ago, we went to Kathadin Stream and Roaring Brook (twice!), you don't need an extra permit, just to get up early.

Mr Pizza in Gorham is Closing (Now Reopened under new owners)

Mr Pizza played a big part in our initial hiking spree 2010~2012, the food was never great, but you could get there as a group late on a sat/sun evening after a big hike without any worry.

Recent trip to Maine to almost complete our NE3Ks

Yeah, in 2018/2019 we didn't hike much for personal reasons then COVID hit, so this trip was really overdue.

Recent trip to Maine to almost complete our NE3Ks

On July 16th we got to Jackman to get a straggler, Coburn that we missed on an aborted trip pre-COVID19. We followed the snowmobile trail and took the steep herdpath up to the "fire tower" / antenna at the top. We then headed to Moosehead lake to get a proper start to this two-weeks trip. We...

Sleeping in cars allowed at Lafayette Place?

We've all heard stories of law enforcement emptying out Lincoln Woods at night and such, but here we are looking into a hypothetical new situation at Lafayette Place (or just someone making stuff up or not being able to read English correctly, FB OP is from QC).

Sleeping in cars allowed at Lafayette Place?

I was surprised, but OP added that they saw at least 4 other cars with people sleeping in, I know it doesn't really meaning anything, but it was enough to investigate further.

Sleeping in cars allowed at Lafayette Place?

Hi, Just saw someone reporting on a FB group that there is a sign saying you can sleep in your car at Lafeyette Place, is this a exception because it's a state park and not a WMNF parking? (The OP might just be wrong).

Berlin NH ATV Jamboree August 5th and 6th

Unrelated to current topic, but maybe you can help me understand why it doesn't seem possible to have some hikers friendly (i.e. not the Top Notch Inn) in the Gorham area in the winter? There is a lot more offering on Lincoln's side.

Lincoln woods trail closure later this summer?

Good to know, never had to look for a crossing there. I also didn't visit the Eastside Trail yet, is it in good shape? I guess it receives less visitors since the bridge removal.

Lincoln woods trail closure later this summer?

There is a planned construction project (https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=61348) that indicates a possible trail closure for several weeks, no specific dates are given, only that water level needs to be low. Anyone has heard more about this? AFAIK, there no easy way to bypass this...
