    5 days? Yeah right!

Interesting posts by all - I enjoy reading all of the different perspectives. Also getlittle history lessons along the way. What I must have missed though is how he did. Did he get them all in the time frame (doesn't sound like it)? If he didn't how did he finish up?

    5 days? Yeah right!

The Hancocks are broken out - there were two groups of 10 there today so you are good to go there.

    5 days? Yeah right!

Reports from my friends are that Tom and Field are broken out, but they had to turn back before heading over to Willey. Will let you know how our trip to the Hancocks goes tomorrow.

    5 days? Yeah right!

Taking a group to the Hancocks tomorrow so hopefully we can break that out for you it hasn't been done already. There's also a small group going to Tom, Field, and Willey today. That's five peaks. Hope it helps.

    Sledding

I am very much looking forward to sledding down the logging roads from Dorset in VT - they seem like they will be long and fast. :D

AMC Trails Day, June 5, 2010

Yes, Hazel Hoe was the term most used by the AMC. It was very nice to meet you and the girls - they were great. Loved hearing their jokes ("why did the elephant wear red shoes? so he could hide in the cherry tree"). :D Have fun on your high-pointing adventure.

Herd Path between Jay and Big Jay

Thanks for the recent data. If I remember I will bring a new notebook up there to add to the jar.

US/Canada Border Question for Boundary Peak

Thanks - although I don't mind the mud bugs the size of helicopters ain't my thing. Will have to load up on the DEET. Congratulations on the official Boston bib number. Thanks - we looked at the WHTI site. Getting over to Canada isn't the problem since she has the necessary documents to go...

US/Canada Border Question for Boundary Peak

I was hoping to get the six-pack peaks up in northern Maine out of the way in early July and planned to follow the shorter routes described elsewhere on-line by Papa Bear, Bob & Geri, and others. They mention crossing over into Canada – I have no problems with that. It’s the getting back into...

Herd Path between Jay and Big Jay

Thanks for all of the feedback - I didn't think it was something I needed to worry about but wanted to make sure there wasn't some big land dispute because of that illegal ski trail. It would be a very long drive to only get one of the two peaks.

Berlin Fish Hatchery gate--open until 10 pm

Tim, That's kind of what the guy that I talked said, without really saying it. "Have we ever locked anyone in? Do you think we would ever do that to someone?"

Herd Path between Jay and Big Jay

I am planning to knock these two peaks off the Hundred Highest List in June and someone told me that the herd path between the two peaks has been blocked by fences. I have not seen anything about this anywhere else and was wondering if anyone knew if this was true. I was thinking that maybe he...

Berlin Fish Hatchery gate--open until 10 pm

I had a couple of friends who were hiking Cabot and they called me in a panic - they were running late after having climbed Waumbek earlier in the day and were worried that the gate would be closed when they got down. The person I spoke to at the hatchery said that regardless of the time, they...

Bob Hayes and Tom Caldwell finish their SSW48 on Jackson

Glad I could join you for the finish. It was a nice way to get the winter hiking season started now that the family commitments are out of the way. Maybe I can tag along on some more as you go for round #2.

Tripyramids via Sabbaday Brook Trail 11/27/2009

Tripyramids via Sabbaday Brook Trail 11/27/2009 Sabbaday Brook Trail to Mt Tripyramid Trail (North and Middle Tripryamid) Trail Conditions: The lower sections were wet in spots but not sloppy. The numerous water crossings were OK considering it was pouring when we started and it continued to...

Garfield Ridge Traverse, plus a little, 10/23/2009

I always enjoy reading your trip reports and marvel at the level of detail that you remember. I usually have to snap a picture or shoot a little video of something for me to remember it later on, even at the car at the end of the day. Nice job. Pete: I get out to the 4Ks about 2 - 3 times a...

Congratulations - finished my 67 on nearby Sugarloaf but spent some time in the rock shelter atop Abraham before heading to #67 to get out of the wind.

Carrigain - Final Peak for NH 48

Congratulations! Like unadogger I checked out your pictures to see if I may have seen you on the trail (or even at the Pheasant Lane mall - I live in Pepperell) but I haven't. Keep on hiking.

    Urban Hiking-DC 8/7

You gotta hike what's near by. I had some dirtbag tell me that I'm not a real hiker since all I hike are the "whimpy" mountains in New England. Hey, they are in my backyard so that's what I hike. He said to be a real hiker you have to be climbing the 12K - 14K peaks out West. The only time I've...
