Tomorrow morning Rambler and I are driving up to Maine and Monday morning we'll start hiking north on the AT through the 100 Mile Wilderness. We expect to do side trips to Gulf Hagas, and stay at White House Landing and generally take our time and enjoy the area. We hope to summit Katahdin via the Hunt Trail on the 8th.

Then after a day off, we'll meet Funky Freddie and Josef for 4 days in Baxter. We hope to do The Traveler (with Spencer for the day), Doubletop and the "4 Brothers" and then move up to Chimney Pond and do Katahdin (again), perhaps via the Knife Edge and Hamlin, the North Peaks, whatever we can fit in.

Wish us luck and we are hoping for good hinking weather. But then again, we're hikers. A little rain won't bother us.

Just got back from Baxter State Park, Katahdin was gorgeous. If you have an empty day take the blueberry ledges trail from the north down, the ledges are very relaxing. We spent a day there ourselves.

Have a good trip…
