walked the Boreas river walk after doing Vanderwhaker. Has anyone canoe'd this river from the route 28 north bridge? Looks like it comes out in the hudson and you can take out in North Creek. Are there any prblems doing this? Don't want to go over any falls!
The second question is, can anyone use the camping spot there at the bridge? Looks like a nice spot. It even has a outhouse.

Hi dib,

That little Boreas walk is one of my wife's and my favorites, but we've never thought about canoeing upstream from the 28N bridge. Oh, wait... do you mean downstream? Then there are some falls and rapids (we usually have lunch beside one of them). Take it easy and expect some portages!

AFAIK, those are free public campsites. I've heard of a lot of people using them who might not be able to afford a few days in the woods otherwise. I'd feel perfectly comfortable giving them a try.
