2016-01-02 Willey Range: Avalon, Field, Willey, Tom
Date of Hike: 2016-01-02
Trail Conditions: Pretty easy right now. There is enough snow over the lower ice layers to make for easy travel. There is not much snow, but there is full cover with some rocks sticking through. The snow on the ridge between Field and Willey is especially nice. No problems with stream crossings. The first crossing over Crawford Brook is not yet fully-bridged, but easy to get over.
Special Equipment Required: Light traction. Snowshoes are not yet needed as there is not enough snow, even up on the ridge (the next major snowstorm will change that).
Comments: A couple inches of fresh snow yesterday and overnight make it very pretty out there.
