Trail conditions: Blueberry Ledge is in great shape, hard packed snow. Very little ice overall and the ledges are still in great shape. Broke trail (sank 2-5" with snowshoes) from Rollins to E. Sleeper spur. No evidence of prior travel on Kate Sleeper or Downes brook. One set of old tracks approached E. Sleeper from the west (tripyramids). Sidenote: one or two sets of tracks seen on Tom Wiggins trail and the Blueberry Ledge cutoff appeared nearly as well traveled as Blueberry Ledge.

Special Equipment Required: Microspikes or some form of traction to Whiteface summit, bareboots probably would have been pushing it on the ledges. Snowshoes required on Kate Sleeper trail despite the hardpack.

Comments: Great day for whiteface. Warm sun on the ledges and mid 30's temps maintained perfect trail conditions. Minor snow squall (~1-2") en route to E Sleeper was a minor annoyance when you have to duck under so many branches, but the sun on the way down Whiteface made up for it.
