Date of Hike: 8/9/08
Trail Conditions: Wet with running water in spots. Herd path to Jay very, very, very muddy (deep mud, too).
Special Equipment Required: waterproof boots and gaiters essential, a pole for balance very helpful.
Comments: LT in fine shape. Herd path straightforward, has patches of 1-2' deep mud, a few blowdowns, and some fencing to climb under/around. Official word from GMC is okay for hikers to use the path, signage and fencing to be removed. Plan on careful log-hopping for some of the mud pits.
