I did a quick jaunt up Mt. Jefferson yesterday. Quick in some spots that is, and really slow in other spots just so I could spend more time enjoying the day. It was a great day.
Climbing the Caps Ridge trail.
More Caps and then the summit.
Looking across the lawn to Mt. Washington.
A sea of rocks. Some might call it "felsenmeer".
A chipmunk living on the summit of Mt. Jefferson. I shall call him Jeff. He was scurrying in and over and around the summit rocks.
A nice view into the Great Gulf. If you've never hiked the Great Gulf trail before, do so now.
A drone over the White Mountains. Well, maybe it's a glider. I was really hoping for a drone.
Mountain Sandwort eking out a living on the rocks.
Two paths diverged on Monticello Lawn. Both of them good.
From a sea of rocks to a sea of mountains.
Crinkled Hairgrass abstract.
From Pothole Rock, a last look at Caps Ridge and the summit of Jefferson before I disappear into the woods.
