Believe it or not, we did not bag any new peaks today!
But we did have an excellent day with a group of 8 Catskill 3500 Club hikers. We met in Margaretville, spotted cars at the Mill Brook Road PA and began the traverse of the ridge. It goes up from 2600' to 3050', down to 2700' at the lean to, up to 3400'+ for seemingly miles while you dip and dodge to finally get to Dry Brook Ridge at 3460' or so. There are several great view points looking South and West along the ridge. Eventually, the trail slowly winds its way down to Margaretville again. We did the 10 miles in about 6 hours, with lots of stops along the way to check out the views, the bogs and chat. A few spritzes of rain, but it never really amounted to any annoyance. 1 Person did bust out his umbrella!
Even the parking lot above Margaretville has a nice view on this hike! My first traverse of this ridge and it was great. Thanks for finally taking me here Laurie!
