So, let's see... technically, my climb last Sunday on Big Slide counts as a winter 46, even though there was practically no snow, there was absolutely no need for snowshoes, and the temps were so far above freezing you could have practically worn shorts. I kinda felt like I was cheating.
On the plus side, this kind of weather makes for beautiful and comfortable hiking, and the trail up over the Brothers is one of the more scenic in the Adirondacks. We had an especially talkative and fun group, and that added to the day's enjoyment.
