We hiked from Lincoln Gap to Mt. Ellen and back. There is a sign on the Lincoln-Warren road saying that the road is closed, but we were able to drive all the way to the trailhead. The trail is mostly bare, no snow to speak of. We bare-booted the entire way. Carried microspikes but did not use them. There is ice in places but the rock hopping was easy in most areas.
It has been many years since I last hiked this section of trail, I had forgetten how beautiful it is.
