Acadia NP: Nesting falcons prompt trail closures

It's really fun to be up there after the babies hatch and they start emerging out of the nest, onto the cliffs. They set up a nice telescope and there is someone around to explain what is happening. If you are really lucky, you will see them take their first flight. It's quite the process and a big waiting game.

This falcon site in NY is terrific. Palemale and Lola. The pics are absolutely incredible and they are continuously updated.

Maddy's pics are very nice, but they're not falcons, they're Red-tailed hawks.

Falcon cam

There is a falcon cam in Manchester, NH. This is the link to it: http://www.nhaudubon.org/research/pcamframehi.htm A couple of years ago.. or was it last year... I watched four eggs being laid and two chicks hatch and grow. Never did see them fledge. By that time in the summer am spending way more time in the woods than I am online. :)
