I have read that the roads from Lincoln to the Batell Trail head are not maintained in winter. Are the roads from Jeruslem to the Jersalem trail opened?

Thanks

Thanks Kevin. I was wishing you would check in on this thread. I figured that have taken more trips up these peaks then trips to the corner mailbox.

You're welcome. The "trailhead" is a spot on the road. Watch for a small sign nailed to a tree as you're headed up a slight incline. Can be a little tough to spot. Once on the ridge the trail itself (the LT) isn't particular obvious in winter either! As you probably know, the trail breaks out on a ski slope just below a chairlift, and then continues past the Mt Ellen peak to Abe. The trail at this point is fairly obvious in winter.

Puck, from Ellen to Abe you'll see (unless it snows again) snowshoe tracks that get "lost" from time to time. See my Ellen TR from last weekend. Oh, and watch out for the 8 foot spruce trap I fell into!

Good luck and have a great time. Let me know where the trail leaves from Lincoln Peak toward Abe, as that was where we decided to descend.
