Trails: Valley Way, Airline, Osgood Trail, Snowfields
Valley Way packed nicely to the tent sites, snow a little loose from there up to the hut. Trail up to Adams mostly styrofoam, packed snow and some ice. Madison cone mostly packed snow and ice with lots of exposed rocks. Traction is needed. Everyone used something different, from snowshoes, spikes, bareboots, and crampons. Some wind on Adams, more wind on Madison, but air temps were mild, so the wind was not a big issue.
Congratulations to Bill Marcotte on finishing the Grid today on Mt. Adams. Bill is the 14th person to accomplish this. The 48 4000 ft. NH peaks in every month for a total of 576 peaks. For more details go to the Trip Reports Section.
