Trails: Airline, Gulfside, Snowfields, Osgood, Valley Way

Airline was bare ground to about 2500 ft. where intermittent snow and rail started. At about 3000 ft. on went the spikes. The snow pack was quite firm and frozen this morning.

Durand Ridge was bare ground with small patches of snow. All barebootable. Gulfside to the snowfields was mostly solid pack with some postholes.

Snowshoes (only for the televators, any traction would work) up the snowfields to the summit of Adams. The snowfields were styrofoam and in excellent shape with no ice.

Snowshoes all the way back to Madison Hut for walking on the snowfields.

Bare boots on the Osgood to the summit of Madison. Mostly bare dry rock with minor patches of snow.

Valley way just down from the hut to the tent site was in terrible shape. The trail is nowhere to be found. We followed tracks through the scrub. Lots of blowdowns on Valley Way.

Airline is in much better shape. Recommend using it until the snow melts.

Snow was getting soft on Valley Way on the way down, but there is a very firm base and postholing was only sporadic.

Hiked with Bill Marcotte today. Nice sunny day with blue sky and a slight chilly wind on the summits. Saw a bunch of Folks out today, but not as many as would be expected for such a great day.
