Hope it's not too early for this annual thread.........

Seeking information as to the status of the colors in the Adirondacks (all regions). Free to update as we go. I'll be up there next week (HP's region) and just curious as to know where we are at.

Yes, there is -THIS WEBSITE- , but the "boots on the ground" assesment from here is usually better.

Thanks

Did some hiking last weekend in eastern hike peaks region (Algonquin, Haystack, etc.). No appreciable color change yet. The temps were close to freezing, but I don't believe there was a frost. Will be in L.P. for the half marathon this weekend and will follow up if there is any change.

i was on mt. marcy last sunday - not even the beginning of colors (but there was frost in the morning) - maybe because it is so dry the colors will be different (the river crossing at indian falls is the lowest that i have ever seen it) i have noticed that sometimes dry weather delays the colors, or that you get a lot of brown leaves (we will have to wait and see)...

I understand that with the wet, cool Spring and dry Summer the leaves will turn and drop quickly this fall.
There should be a bumber crop of nuts, also. Good for the critters !
The unhealthy trees around me have already turned, but 99% are still green.

This is a foliage web cam page, so you can view the area of interest in real time (as long as it's not too cloudy, like today).
