ADK 46er trail crew wannabe.

I have sent two e-mails in the past 4 or 5 weeks to the 46ers requesting they send me whatever paperwork that requires filling out prior to getting my hands dirty but havn't heard back from them. Does anybody have any info on that? After all, I have a very strong back and a very weak mind which I'm sure are excellent qualifications for this type of work.

Try the 46er Listserve, they may have info already on it.

Schedule is on the 46er web site. That is as much as ANYONE has until the spring newsletter goes out. Even I (and I'm the one you mail to when you click on the 46er site) don't have it yet.

By the way, when you're heading down for the trailwork, do NOT tell the guys at the border that your are doing trailwork. Even though it is volunteer work, you are not getting paid (you did know that we don't pay, didn't you?) they do not want you working.

I questioned an immigration guy about this one time, and he said that there is a chance you could be stopping american volunteers from volunteering.

I think, in order to satisfy them, we would have to fill in form I0342A (in triplicate) to let them know that we don't have enough american volunteers.

Nope... and all this time I thought you had my back. That might be Curt. I carried a full pack since I overnighted in the lean-to. I still remember waking to your beautiful serenading voice
