Recommendations for adventure books suitable for a 17-year old girl - ? Since this group is learned, well-read and wise. It's for a holiday gift exchange so I don't know the recipient, but I'd like to represent a gutsy girl or two that hikes, climbs or does other non-wimpy things. Like the fine ladies here.

Lara Prior-Palmer, Rough Magic: Riding the World's Loneliest Horse Race​

19-year-old woman from England races in a Mongolian horse race, which she wins. The book is simply wonderful! Told in a fresh writing style, it is insightful, and breathtaking, and often quite funny.
