Trail wasn't as muddy as reported. With minimal care the top of my boots never saw mud. Made it slowly to Algonquin summit with 6, 8, 13 and 16 year olds. Descending Algonquin- about halfway between Wright trail and the waterfall- our two boys (8 & 13 yr old) were swarmed with hornets and each stung many times. We waved others to detour off-trail. Not sure why they didn't hit anyone on way up; or if they had a close-by hive that was distrubed previously. Steward at the Loj said this had occurred before. Not sure why I write this as without a specific location, there's not much you can do
Approx 40 people on summit. Clear, usual great view. Loj lot was full by 10:45A. If you plan on parking there, get an early start. Standard summer equipment. ( a mosquito net / hat would've saved a few facial & neck stings but <to me> it's not worth wearing)
