Is there a recognition for bagging all of the 4000 footers in NY/VT/NH/ME? Depending on how you count them, it looks like there must be about 110 (I guess it depends on how you count the ADK 46, since some are not quite 4000, and the original count leaves out McNaughton).

Whitelief -

First of all, good luck on your pursuit. I finished the 111/115 several years ago now. But I don't know if your count of 110 was due to leaving out Slide and Hunter in the Catskills or leaving out the two recently promoted Maine mountains (Spaulding and Redington). Anyway, there are 115 required climbs for the 111ers (MacNaughton is not on the list) and here's the breakdown.

Adirondack 46Rs - (46) although only 42 of these top out above 4000, the 111ers have decided to recognize the tradition of the 46 and requires all.

Catskills - (2) Slide in Ulster County and Hunter in Greene County

White Mountains - (48) ... new list replaces Wildcat E with Wildcat D

Vermont (5) - Killington, Camel's Hump, Abraham, Ellen and Mansfield

Maine - (14) - the recent additions are in the Sugarloaf area.

The longtime head of the 111ers is Priscilla Robertson and her address for more information is ...

329 Village Street
Medway, MA 02053

Good luck.

Thanks for the links!

Mo and Mark: Great info and great links. Thank you.

I bought a couple new guidebooks today, and I have already started laying out the strategy.

Let us just say that this task won't get done in the next few weeks.
