Trail Conditions: On 03/13/08, the entire trial was frozen solid and covered with a few inches of fresh powder. Previous snow-bridge failures were frozen in place, and stream crossings were no problem. Numerous snowshoe post-holes, which formed during the warmer weather, froze and were a nuisance. On the slide, the broken trail was very icey, and, on either side of it, the crust-covered snow was difficult to kick-step into with snowshoes in order to obtain a good purchase. Conditions may change with the warmer weather.
