Generally good conditions. For the most part you will be able to avoid most of the mud pits, very little blowdown to dodge. The rock slabs from Allen Brook to the summit are quite slick - there are some herd paths to the right and left you can take to avoid some of the steeper/slicker areas. I did enjoy a couple "go back to go, do not collect $200 and try again" falls.
I used hiking poles, not the norm for me, and I think they were very helpful in stabilizing my footing on the trek up and back down.
Comments: Amazing. I, like most, put Allen near the end of my 46 because of negative press (length, time, etc.) I was totally shocked to find myself at the summit 4:40 after leaving the parking lot. A great view towards the SE awaits. This is one trek I would love to do again.
