Trails: east river trail, herd path
Conditions: waded the Hudson and kept water shoes on for lake jimmy bridge which was ok in the morning but on the return the western end had come loose resulting in a crotch deep wade. Was able to rock hop the opalescent just down stream from the trail. The trail was in good shape with junctions well marked. Quite overgrown once beyond the opalescent crossing. Herd path to Allen generally nice as well with relatively little mud and decent footing once on the steep ascent. The infamous red slime was in effect on some places but was mostly dry. Some blowdown of note along the hp but nothing that can't be navigated pretty easily.
Equipment: footwear for first couple crossings a good idea.
Comments: nice day. Great temps and conditions made for good walking. Awesome view from blowdown area just beyond summit. Great to be back on the trails in the high peaks.
