Date of Hike: 8/9/2008
Trail Conditions: Mud, mud and more mud. Oh yeah -- standing water also, between the mud pits.
Special Equipment Required: Gaiters would probably have been useful. Hiking pole came in handy when trying to judge how deep the mud pits were.
Comments: Great hike, approximately 12 hours total at a leisurely pace, including several breaks. Crossing of the Opalescent was not a problem. Good thing the bridge was washed out and that section of the trail not in use, because there were people camping right in the middle of the trail next to the Opalescent where the bridge used to be -- amazing.
