Has anybody else caught the Film "Alone in the Wilderness" the story of Dick Proenneke?

It was aired a few weeks ago on PBS (NH, I beleive) and then last night again on PBS, but I think the Boston Channel.

It is a great story about a man (who is very skilled with woodworking tools as well as filmmaking) who decides to head to Alaska and builds a cabin (with incredible speed) and ends up living around 35 years alone I think from the mid-60's through 1998. I understand the NPS made his homestead a historic place now.
I found the film captivating and many times found myself wondering
"what if I...." "Could I..."
I am asking for the movie for Christmas from my wife.
Anybody else catch it?

I saw the film too. What an incredible story. It made me feel so humble seeing this guy build everything he needed from scratch. It makes all my Home Depot projects around the house seem so meaningless.

Thanks for sharing this. I love stories like this and look forward to buying the video.
