AMC Rescue Insurance?

That sounds pretty good. I have been a member of the (UK)Austrian Alpine Club for about 10 years now. At an annual membership fee of around $100 US, they have rescue and recovery insurance as part of their annual membership I used them for discounts in the Spanish and French Alpine Huts on the GR 10 and GR 11 in the Pyrenees.

Inshallah I will never need the rescue service.

I wonder if the implementation of this might be some sort of marketing partnership with an existing carrier of this type of insurance rather than the AMC itself being the insurer. Even if "AMC branded", it could be underwritten by a third party insurer. Might be an additional source of income for the AMC.

The Devil is in the details - what exactly is covered up to what amount? A chopper ride out? International?

The AAC has had various levels of coverage available for years but people have had problems trying to use it.. The various European Alpine Clubs usually have better deals, of course mountain rescue in Europe is a lot more professional and straight forward.
