AMC Winter Mountaineering Weekends

Has anyone done one of them? I am considering signing up in February for three days of training in winter conditions/winter equipment.

Looks to be very comprehensive, anyone have any feedback??

is that the one IME teaches? if so - it will be good assuming there aren't like 50 people there and 2 guides. But my guess is IME would never operate like that. I did the same one from IME back a few years (not through AMC) - if your thinking of getting into climbing, etc.. its a good course to take fo sure. you will learn a good amount pretty quick with those guys.

Sabrina...I have taken three of their courses (winter), but not this one.It was a while ago and I liked them all. I thought they did a really good job.
I could definitely see you doing this. Looks like a lot of fun!

It's a little on the pricey side, but maybe they are an option.

And no, I don't consider you on the "girlie" side of things, it's just another option. After hiking with you, I'd NEVER make that mistake (not that I would anyway, I'm not that shallow).

BTW, I've seen them in action, and they're awesome to watch, highly skilled and WAY beyond my league.
