This summer is going by waaaaay too fast, I have a few hikes I've already committed to, which take up some of the weekends in August and September.

Below are three hikes I would very much like to do by late September. The company of other hikers is certainly welcome (car spots necessary in the first two cases) -- so please contact me if interested!

I tend to hike at a moderate pace, faster below treeline than above.

(1) Goose Eye Ridge -- up the Notch Trail (but not into Mahoosuc Notch), to the AT, and over the Goose Eye ridge, including the south peak of Fulling Mill Mountain, and the three peaks of Goose Eye. Down the Goose Eye Trail to Success Pond Rd. I had figured this as 9.5mi, 3000ft el gain. There are some interesting botanical features here which I can point out; I've already got pictures of all the plant species I expect to see, though, so the only thing that would cause a slowdown would be general enjoyment of the scenery, and of course the blueberries if there are any left. I'm shooting for late August or early September.

(2) Wildcats / Carters via Carter Notch Hut -- 2 days: up AT over Wildcats to Carter Notch Hut for day 1, then on day 2 continuing on AT over the Carters to North Carter, backtracking & down via one of the Imp Trails. Strictly peakbagging here for the most part; I will have my eyes open for certain plants in a few spots, though I don't expect to find anything. My calcs for Day 1 = 5.1mi 3150ft, Day 2 = 10.2mi 2500ft, with some muddy stretches expected.

(3) Chocorua / The Three Sisters via Champney Falls Trail -- 8-9 mi, 2200ft. I want to identify some plants I saw here last November.

So far my schedule is open these days:
Sun Aug 21
Sat/Sun Aug 27-28
one day during Labor Day wkend Sep 3-5 (not sure which day yet)
Sat/Sun Sep 10-11
Sat/Sun Sep 17-18
Sat/Sun Sep 24-25

edit: one more--
(4) the spot where the Lucy Brook fire was last year, depending on how bad a bushwhack it is. I'm curious to see what a large burn looks like & how quickly the vegetation recovers.
