Ampersand from Rt 3 trailhead SW of Saranac Lake (the DEC sign on the highway is missing, but the sign post is still there).
Trails were fine, wet after it rained on the way up, summit rocks dried out quickly after it stopped raining. Great stone staircases for much of the slopey part of the trail, almost like skiing moguls on the way down.
I had sunny skies on the summit, with views of the heavy dark clouds over the Sewards and the MacIntyres (see Algonquin post below).
