I'm trying to help someone pick to trails to explore around Lakes. I know it's a bit late in the season, but does anyone know if there are still flowers blooming along the Alpine Garden trail?

10-Days Ago

I’m certain someone has some more recent experience, but 10-days ago, I took this photo along the Alpine Garden Trail.

Summer flowers

Spring flowers are gone. Diapensia, Alpine Azalea, Lapland Rosebay. Summer flowers are blossoming, Mountain Avens, Harebells, Mountain Sandwort.

Some people go to the Alpine Garden expecting to be knee deep in flowers. It's not like this. If you don't have that expectation, then it won't be disappointing.

To me, one of the best spots this time of year is the Tuckerman Ravine Trail between The Bowl and The Lip. The waterfalls and trail are surrounded by wildflowers and there are still a lot of spring flowers because they bloom later there. Orchids, Bluets, Ragwort will all be found there now.

Thanks for the suggestion!

(and don't worry, we do understand that the Alpine Garden doesn't look like the annuals aisle at Mahoney's)
