Reminds me a little of an Inukshuk. These were popular tourist items, as well as (more importantly) native cultural art seen during my recent visit to the Yukon. "May the Inukshuk be your guide for a safe journey throughout life’s travels. Let it always guide you home."

It is only the rock with the initials and date that were ae talking about - the have been placed on several 4K summit carins that we have visited lately.
