On Sunday June 9th I hiked the 18 mile AT/LT section southbound from Rte 9 in Vermont to North Adams Mass. On the ridge the trail was extremely wet and muddy which caused very slow travel. Most of the the thru hikers were staying close to the shelters still trying to dry things out from the last few days of rain. With the rain forecast for later this week I would expect this trail will stay muddy for quite some time. No problems with blowdowns.. other than being wet and muddy trail was in good shape. The trail from North Adams to the MA/VT state line was dryer and in better condition than the rest of the ridge walk. Stone steps going up from route 9 to Harmon Hill were very slippery but no washouts.
