Ausable Parking Lot In The Offseason

I haven't been to the Adirondacks in quite awhile now and was thinking of possibly making the trek this weekend to scope out the new reservation set up, check out the lot, the road network to the trails, blah, blah, blah during the offseason. I've never hiked from this trailhead before, pre or post reservation system.

But I noticed on the site that reservations end on Oct 31st. Does the lot close or are the gates open and it is just first come first serve? What is the demand for parking at this time of year on a SAT? I scrolled through the Q&A and none of the questions covers what happens when the reservation season is over. If anyone can shed any light on this it would be appreciated. Thanks.

The AMR parking lot is large with no capacity problem this time of year. Open 24/7. It is plowed in winter, but being private property it may not always be cleared till they get around to it.
