I know it's not the northeast but here is a trip report from my recent backpacking trip on the Collegiate Loop. If you don't have time for an entire Colorado Trail or CDT trip, this 161 mile loop circles the Collegiate Peaks navigating around 11 14ers on the way and endless 13ers while traveling miles above treeline. The route combines the Colorado Trail and CDT (Collegiate West in this area) I had a rare wet stretch with full days of rain but on nicer days there is plenty of peak bagging access from the trail including numerous 14ers. Click the link below to my blog for all the photos and full trip report.
