Balanced Rocks is a fine lookout on the way to Pitchoff; a quiet area across from the heavily visited Cascade route from Rt73
After days of rain there were only a couple of places where the trail mud required effort (walking on logs thrown in). The trail is little enough used and bit ovegrown so that brushing wet trailside growth was inevitable. In a couple places the trail is steep enough to require handholds (notably after crossing a slide).
Our attempt to stay under the clouds just barely worked, but not really much of a view. Nice place to visit on a fine day.
Trail shoes in order.
