I've done these peaks three times but not since 2002. Has the parking/ access situation changed any?

Yes, park at the end of Moonhaw Rd., at the snow plow turn around. Do not go past the gate! (Stay out of the Freidel property, they no longer allow hikers to use their land). From there, you can proceed straight up the mountain. Enjoy!Tim Kase said:

Ah, you brought back memories. I finished my 3500 club membership requirements on Balsam Cap and Friday. This was in the 90's and there was no gray in the beard then:
Me on Friday (odd considering that it was Saturday
)
Even then, access was an issue.
- Monadnock Volunteer (still using those same snowshoes).
