Winter peak #2 for us - great little hike.

Trail conditions were lovely: soft powdery snow, no ice at all. A couple of big groups had been through and the trail was well broken. Water crossings were easy, no issues. About 4 inches of snow at the top was what someone said in the parking area when we arrived, but the dogs were definitely leaping around in deeper stuff.

Halia barebooted without any problems (I didn't fall once!!!). Flammeus tried some new traction aids: first ice something or others. They were OK (they didn't break or move around on his feet, and he didn't complain). Dress in layers - it got very warm in the sun - much warmer than the weather forecast indicated.

It was nice to see some folks left packs and gear at the trail intersection - perhaps to go snag another peak? That kind of trust and sense of safety is wonderful to see. It warmed our hearts.

cheers,
Halia and Flammeus
