Just to let people know, REI has awesome deals on BC skis right now. Fischer Outtabounds for $125 and Garmont Excursion lightweight plastic tele boots for only $139. A steal. Sizes are limited and stuff was going quick. Check both stores.

Was that only at specific stores? I couldn't find the Excursions at rei.com. I hope they weren't available at that price online -- I just succumbed to an impulse buy of those boots yesterday during my day off while reading about them online. Broadband and a VISA are a dangerous combination.I got them for $250 from another place after missing out at $216 from mountaineer.com. Both those prices I thought were excellent.

I got my boots at the store in Reading, MA. I know the one in Framingham, MA usually has similar stock.

Well, I feel a little bit better, although Framingham is only about 25 miles from here. Oh well, impulse buys are SUPPOSED to be a little irrational.

Wow -- I just got an email from the second place I ordered from -- they ran out of the size too! So, with 10 minutes until the store closed, I called REI in Framingham and have secured a set of Garmont Excursions AND a set of Fischer Outtbounds 179's for about the price of the Excursions alone!!

Thanks for the tip Darren! Now all we have to do is get through this damn spring and summer weather and into next winter!!!

Grumble ... paid almost full price last fall for Outbound Crowns and Excursions ... grumble ... at least I got the package discount ... grumble.

I see white on the ground right now - get out there and use them!

I brought Excursion from Outdoor Gear Exchange (gearx.com) in Burlington Vermont last fall for $169. Store display model. They have many models, though this late in the season they may be sold out. Give them a try.
